Over $500,000 in Smart & Caring funding to local charities! We are thrilled to announce over $500,000 in grants awarded through our Smart & Caring Grant cycle for 2022.
The Andrea and Heinz Schaerer Fund Life-long philanthropists and volunteers, Andrea and Heinz Schaerer, find a new way to give back to the Nature Trust of New Brunswick and the Boys and Girls’ Club of Greater Saint John with an endowment fund, which will support these organizations in perpetuity.
Learning Together Over the coming months, the Community Foundation is working in partnership with five youth serving agencies that have programs dedicated to academic support. This deeply collaborative project will focus on establishing action-oriented strategies and designing a network of support that leverage the strengths of each program.
Youth-Led Granting: A Participatory Approach in Action In the fall of 2021, we decided to flip our traditional granting process on its head. Social Innovation Fund Projects Update Funding for these initiatives was provided by the Government of New Brunswick through the Social Innovation Fund; a 10-million investment in innovative solutions to target poverty in Saint John.
