Social issues of poverty, unstable housing, mental health, gender imbalance, and violence can lead women and gender-diverse people to be caught in the net of the justice system. Since 1987, EFryNB has been reaching out to those who are freeing themselves from systemic and individual barriers and burdens. Women and gender-diverse people who may be criminalized engage in EFry NB’s education, advocacy, and direct services that provide hope and confidence to move forward from a position of strength.

In November of 2020, the Board of Directors established a permanent endowment fund with the Community Foundation. This fund is intended to support the education and employment goals of women and gender-diverse people who may be criminalized.

The Community Foundation is honored to be entrusted with this very important fund.
