The Dr. Eli Davis Memorial Fund

The Dr. Eli Davis Memorial Fund supports the Dr. Eli Davis Memorial Nursing Award, recognizing top-performing nursing students in operating and recovery room studies at UNB Saint John.

Dr. Eli Davis was a well-respected Anaesthesiologist, having graduated from Saint John High School, the University of New Brunswick and Dalhousie University where he later taught as Associate Professor in Anaesthesia. He served as the Director of Medical Education and Chief of Anaesthesia at the Saint John General Hospital, and as President of the Saint John Medical Society. Also, Dr. Davis was the Chairman of the Board of the Saint John Free Public Library for many years.

The family of Dr. Davis has established the Dr. Eli Davis Memorial Fund with the Greater Saint John Community Foundation in order to award the Dr. Eli Davis Memorial Nursing Award. This award will provide funds to support nursing students at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John Campus, who have achieved the highest academic standing in operating room and recovery room studies.

More funds

The Constable Doug Larche Memorial Bursary Fund will provide one or more bursaries to graduates of St. Malachy’s Memorial High School who plan on pursuing full time post secondary education.

The Joshua Porter Gunn Bursary Fund honors Josh’s legacy of positivity and determination. It provides annual bursaries to graduating students from St. Malachy’s and Simonds High School, supporting those with financial need, strong academics, leadership, and involvement in sports, particularly hockey.

The Nagaraj Family Fund supports bursaries for graduating Saint John High School students and other charitable causes in the Greater Saint John area.

Fund supports a Saint John-area high school graduate pursuing post-secondary education, honoring Meltzer’s legacy and valuing academic success, community service, and core principles like kindness and integrity.
