The Centenary-Queen Square United Church Trust Fund

Centenary-Queen Square United Church was a congregation in the heart of Saint John’s historic uptown. The Church occupied its location on Princess Street since 1939 – with a capacity for upwards of 1400 worshippers each week.

As the years passed and the nature of the congregation continued to change, a decision was made in 2013 to dissolve the congregation. While the Church itself would be closing, the Day Care Centres associated with the Church would continue to serve the community. The congregation approached The Community Foundation to establish a named fund to support the ongoing operations of the Day Care Centres in perpetuity.

The Centenary-Queen Square Day Care Centres offer recreational programs and care services for adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, and day care services for all children regardless of economic background, ensuring that families and individuals have equal and affordable access to necessary services.
