50 Years of Impact: The Heart Behind the Work
A tribute to the volunteers who lead with purpose and care
This National Volunteer Week, we’re taking a moment to celebrate a group of people whose impact is felt in every corner of our community, our Board of Directors.
They come from different paths… labour relations, law, finance, healthcare, education, social policy, and community leadership, but they share one thing in common: a deep commitment to Greater Saint John.
Our Chair, Kristin Ross, brings a lifelong dedication to social work and advocacy. Alongside her, Vice-Chair Cathy Fawcett has built a career in law grounded in service and volunteerism. Together with our executive group, Fraser Wells, Matthew Snelgrove, and Tracy Friars and each and every one of our directors, they help guide our Foundation with care, expertise, and integrity.
Across the table sit leaders who give back in countless ways:
Champions of inclusion and social change.
Mentors, advisors, and community builders.
Volunteers who show up not just for meetings, but for people.
From supporting newcomers to advancing public policy…
From strengthening financial stewardship to investing in community grants…
From healthcare and education to youth, sport, and poverty reduction…each director brings a perspective shaped by real experience and a genuine desire to make life better for others.
We are also grateful for the longstanding leadership and counsel of Gerald McMackin, whose decades of service have helped shape the Foundation into what it is today.
