2019 Investments in youth-led solutions for lasting community impact
In 2019, the Foundation, alongside Community Foundations of Canada and RBC, took a step toward the future by putting leadership and decision-making into the hands of young people across Greater Saint John. Together, they launched the Future Launch Community Challenge, inviting youth not just to participate, but to lead.
With $30,000 in grants, young people addressed challenges such as food insecurity, mental health, and environmental stewardship. Their ideas reflected both the realities they saw in their communities and the hope they held for what could be.
The initiative was about more than funding projects. It created space for young people to shape solutions, take responsibility, and see their ideas come to life.
Today, the impact of those youth-led ideas continues to be felt — in gardens that feed neighbours, programs that foster belonging, and leaders who discovered their voice when opportunity met action.
