The Sisters of Charity are enthusiastic supporters of Inclusion New Brunswick and its mission. Beginning in 2026, the fund provides annual support to Inclusion New Brunswick initiatives that advance inclusion and opportunity within Greater Saint John.
Founded in 1854 by Honoria Conway and three companions, the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception emerged in response to the urgent needs of Irish immigrants arriving in Saint John during cholera epidemics. This moment shaped a lasting mission of care for orphans, the sick, the elderly, and those living in poverty throughout Greater Saint John.
Today, the Sisters continue their commitment through advocacy for social and ecological justice, racial and social equality, peace, and truth and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
The Inclusion New Brunswick Fund is a meaningful expression of the Sisters of Charity’s long-standing dedication to dignity, inclusion, and care. By supporting Inclusion New Brunswick’s work in Greater Saint John, the fund helps strengthen a more inclusive community where individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their families are supported, valued, and empowered.
