1st Westfield Scouting was established in 1960 to provide the youth of Grand Bay- Westfield with the opportunity to participate in Scouting. The goal was to contribute to the education of young people through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law and to help build a better world.

Al Thompson was a long-time resident and volunteer in Grand Bay-Westfield who passed away in 2021. He was a leader in the Westfield Scouting Movement and this fund recognizes the contributions he made and the influence he had on many youth, adults and the whole community.

The annual income from the fund will be used to support the activities of 1st Westfield Scouting.
