Board Members

Kristin Ross

Chair

Kristin Ross was born and raised in St. Thomas, Ontario and educated at Dalhousie University (BA), St. Thomas University (BSW) and Wilfred Laurier University (MSW) in the field of Social Work. Kristin works in Labour Relations and has actively been involved in the labour movement for 15 years.

Cathy Fawcett

Vice-Chair

Cathy Fawcett is a founding partner at the law firm of Godbout Fawcett.  Born and raised in Saint John, she obtained a degree in Business Administration from UNBSJ and her law degree from UNB.  Cathy has been an enthusiastic volunteer throughout her professional life with varied organizations including Key Industries, Scouts Canada and her profession’s governing body, the Law Society of New Brunswick.  Cathy and her family live in Grand Bay – Westfield.

Fraser Wells

Secretary

Fraser Wells is an Associate Wealth Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities. A graduate of Queen’s University, Fraser is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). While growing up in Rothesay, Fraser was a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters Saint John. Since moving back home from Toronto, Fraser has enjoyed diving back into the volunteer scene locally. In addition to his position on the board, Fraser has been on the Investment Committee of the Greater Saint John Community Foundation since 2018.

Matthew Snelgrove

Treasurer

Matthew Snelgrove is an Accountant with Acadia Broadcasting Limited. A graduate of the University of New Brunswick (BBA), Matthew is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Matthew has been involved with rowing at the Kennebecasis Rowing Club (KRC) for over 10 years. Matthew enjoys spending time outside fishing, hiking, and biking with friends. Matthew is enthusiastic about all things New Brunswick and proud to call Saint John home.

Tracy Friars

HR Lead

Tracy Friars has enjoyed a career in the Human Resource field both in the corporate world with Bell Aliant & Innovatia and then in her own consulting practice. She is actively involved in community fundraising and building awareness for various charities through the annual Friars Family & Friends Celebrate Life event. Tracy and her family are recent recipients of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, Freedom of the City of Saint John and the Red Triangle Award all based on their community involvement. One of Tracy’s greatest joys in life is music and you will find her involved in more than one choir and performing solo at various events throughout the year. Tracy is a proud “Saint Johner” and is happy to call the Greater Saint John area home.

Judith Brown

Director

Judith Brown is a recently retired Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in publicly accountable organizations, including Director of Finance & Administration for the Saint John Airport Inc. and Controller and Treasurer for the New Brunswick Museum.  A native of Halifax and graduate of Acadia University (BBA) her local volunteer experience has included board positions with Saint John Destination Marketing Inc. and the Saint John Amateur Speed Skating Club. Judith lives with her family in Rothesay.

Mike Duncan

Director

Mike Duncan is a wealth consultant with the Owens MacFadyen Group.  Originally from Bathurst NB, Mike now lives in Rothesay with his wife and two daughters.   He has been volunteering with the Greater Saint John Community Foundation since 2018 serving on the granting committee, investment committee and on the Board.  Mike is also on the board of the Teen Resource Center and the Saint John Pension Plan.

Haiping Fu

Director

Haiping Fu is an Associate Wealth & Investment Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities. A graduate of the University of New Brunswick, BBA, MBA, Haiping is a Chartered Investment Manager, CIM®. Born and raised in Hainan, a tropical island of China, Haiping moved to Canada for University in 2001. Actively involved in the newcomer and immigrant community, Haiping enjoys contributing in helping others who have made Greater Saint John their home.

In addition to her position on the Greater Saint John Community Foundation’s Board of Directors, Haiping also serves on the Foundation’s Granting Committee.

Raha Mosca

Director

Raha Mosca (CPA, CMA, MBA), A Canadian Iranian, Raha immigrated to Canada in 2006, to as an international student at UNB Saint John. Giving back to the community that welcomed her was expressed in her volunteer activities over the years. As a member of Alumni Council of the UNB Associated Alumni, Raha led the International Committee. A resident of Rothesay, Raha acted as Vice-Chair of Public Works and Infrastructure Board as well as serving on Parks and Recreation committee, Heritage committee and Vice Chair of KV Oasis Youth Centre. As President of CPANB-Greater Saint John Chapter, Raha supported their goal to enhance goodwill and the image of CPA New Brunswick. Raha is the recipient of the 2019 CPA New Brunswick Emerging Leader Award. Raha serves as Planning & Business Intelligence Advisor, Supply Chain at JD Irving.

Ken Pike

Director

Ken joined the Foundation Board in March 2025. Until his retirement in 2024, Ken served as Director of Social Policy for Inclusion New Brunswick and has been an advocate in the disability and inclusion movement for 35 years. Ken is also a retired member of the Law Society of New Brunswick.

Through his work with Inclusion NB, Ken has worked extensively on law reform and public policy issues affecting people with a disability including social assistance reform and poverty, supported decision-making, disability support programming, housing, employment, health and inclusive education. 

Ken is the recipient of the 2008 New Brunswick Human Rights Award and in 2017 was inducted into the Bertha Wilson Honour Society at the Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law for his work on promoting a more inclusive society. In 2020, Ken was inducted into the Order of New Brunswick. He and his wife Cathy currently live in Rothesay. 

Janet Thompson-Price

Director

Janet Thompson-Price has been practicing immigration law for almost twenty years and is the co-founder of Atlantic Fusion Law Group.  She has also taught immigration law at the Faculty of Law, University of New Brunswick. Janet and her family live in Quispamsis where they spend a lot of their time on youth sports.  She has volunteered with a number of organizations including the Saint John YMCA and the Saint John Newcomer Centre.

Duncan Webster

Director

Duncan Webster joined The Community Foundation in March of 2023. He has worked as an Infectious Diseases consultant and Medical Microbiologist in his hometown of Saint John since 2007. Duncan began his undergraduate studies at Mount Allison University where he received his BSc in chemistry, biology and physics and BA (honours) in philosophy and religion before completing a Masters in Philosophy at UNB. He went on to obtain his MD at Dalhousie University and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency training and Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Alberta. Following this, he returned to the Maritimes where he completed further fellowship training in Medical Microbiology at Dalhousie University. He is now an associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University.

With strong ties to the local area, he and his family are happy to call Saint John and the Menahqesk area home.

Dr. Andrew West

Director

Dr. Andrew West is the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists where he provides national leadership aimed at enhancing respiratory care for Canadians. He holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Calgary, where he specialized in the field of learning sciences and educational technology.  Andrew is an active researcher in the areas of health policy and education. His career in healthcare, academics and advocacy has taken him to locations across Canada and internationally. After more than 20 years away, Andrew is thrilled to be back home in New Brunswick where he spends his free time soaking up the great outdoors.

Cathy Wright

Director

Cathy Wright brings to the Board a long history of leadership roles in community collaboration, adult literacy and poverty reduction.  She is a recipient of the 2017 Vibrant Communities Canada Legacy Award and the Canada Volunteer Award.  Being involved in efforts to improve the quality of life for all is important to her as she continues to volunteer locally and nationally.  Cathy and her husband have lived in Hampton for over 30 years.
